The Library provides resources in support of all aspects of the curriculum. It offers access to current, adequate, and appropriate information resources to ensure that all students, teachers, and staff are effective users of ideas and information.
Membership
All NJC students are given automatic membership in the College Library. You may borrow books, periodicals and non-print titles using your Student identification Pass (EZ-Link Concession Card) or identification card.
The Print Collection
the Library houses a wide-ranging collection of ficition and non-fiction books, periodicals for academic and recreational reading, as well as newslettters and other publications from government departments and organisations. You can also refer to the collection of university prospectuses from the UK, the USA, Austrialia, New Zeland, Canada and other countries for inforamtion on further education.
The Non-Print Collection
The non-print collection includes CD-Roms, video and audio materials. Facilities are also provided for you to view video and CD-Roms. You may obtain a listing of the entire non-print collection from the Library counter.
Reservation Service
Students may reserve books/ non-print materials that are on loan. You may do this through the SPYDUS system, or by asking one of the Library staff for help. Note that no reservation service is porvided for reference books and periodicals.
Photocopying Services
Students may use photocopying cards purchased from the school photocopying shop to make limited copies of reference materials. However, you are to ensure that the copyright regulations are followed strictly. We have 4 photo coping machine at the Main Library.
Printing Services
Students can print at the library. The printing service is from Seng City. In order to print, you need to use the photcopy card. The printing will cost 5cents per page. The photocopy card can be purchased from school photocopy shop. The colour printing service is also available and it will cost 60 cents per page.
SPYDUS Library Solution
SPYDUS is a user-friendly computer system designed to help you make the best use of the Library resources available to you. It allows you to have access to the complete list of items in the NJC Library as well as the catalogues of other school libraries and MOE libraries. You may also check your Library account for borrower inforamtion such as the number of items on loan, overdue items, reserved items, fines and outstanding charges, if any.
