Borrowing of Library Materials

Student:
You are entitled to the following borrowing privileges:

-4 non-red-spot books
-1 red-spot book
-1 periodical
-1 non-print title
or a combination of 7 items that does not exceed the limit set for red-spot books, non-print titles and periodicals.

You may not attempt to borrow more than your quota of books by using another person's card. This is an act of dishonesty and will be dealt with accordingly.

You are responsible for the items you borrow and should report the loss of any Library items to the Library staff immediately.

Reference materials and pass-year examination papers are not to be taken out of the Library. You can use the Library's photocopying services if you wish to make copies of these materials.

The latest copies of the periodicals are for use in the Library only.

Red Spot Books
Red Spot Books are books that your teachers have requested to be specially put aside for you because they represent important readings for your courses. As there are limited copies available, the Library ensures that all students have access to these books by making them available for short loans only. The loan conditions are set out below.
Red Spot Books are to be read in the Library. You may borrow them for two hours. Overnight-loans of red sport books are allowed after 4pm. The red spot books have to be returned by 11am the next day. Each overdue Red Spot Book will incur a fine of 20 cents per hour.
Students are entitled to borrow one Red Spot Book on overnight loan. It should be returned before 11am the following working day. A fine of 20 cents per hour (or $2 per day) is imposed on overdue books.
Students may make reservations for overnight loans after 12pm. The Red Spot books should be collected between 4pm and 5pm, which is the time set aside for Red Spot Overnight Loans. If the books are not collected by this time, the reservation will be cancelled.
GP Files, universit prospectuses and past year exam papers are not available for overnight loans.

Non Red Spot Books
The loan period for Non Red Spot Books is for 14 days. You may extend the loan for another 14 days if the book is not reserved. You may renew each book a maximum of two times. You can renew online first time and for the second time please renew at the library circulation counter.

Each overdue Non Red Spot Book will incur a fine of 10 cents per working day.

Non-Print Collection
The loan period for non-pring titles is 3 working days. You may extend the loan for another 3 days if the title is not reserved. You may renew each title a maximum of two times.

Replacement of lost books/ non-print materials
You are responsible for the itmes you borrow from the Library. Hence, you will have to pay the full cost (including GST) of any lost itmes as recorded in the Library's accession register.
