NJC Online Library Catalogue

Online library classic catalogue Spydus is our library solution system where you can search any specific item you are looking for from our extensive collection of books, DVDs, CDs and periodicals.

Apart from Spydus system, our library has incorporated new system called Sorcer as online library catalogue. It is an alternative to our normal classic library catalogue system Sypdus.
Sorcer is a user-friendly way to search for movies, music, and books held in our National Junior College Libraries. It is a social network for readers where the users can be shared their reading experiences, interests, favorites and reviews with Sorcer friends.

It is quick and easy to find what you want and has great features:

-Customise your account
-Find new items for books, movies or music by using the tabs provided
-Browse the collection without using search terms
-Find similar books to one you've interested
-Limit results by format, genre, audience, language, publication date and more
-Write reviews and rate things you've borrowed and see other reviews and ratings
-Update what your friends are reading and holding on to the items

How do I use Sorcer?

Anyone can browse and search using Sorcer. In order to get the best out of it you need to login using library account. You can login with your IC number as username and your PIN as password. If you do not have password please approach one of our library staff.
Once you logged in, you can see your current account information such as your loan status, reservation etc. We encourage you to update your particulars such as phone number and email address. It will help us to send you the messages such as due date and reminder notices. It will be good practice to return the items on time in such a way that help others to re-borrow the items as share resources.
You can also view suggested books, movies and music based on your previous borrowing history.

Here is training slides on how you can use Sorcer system via Prezi presentation tool. This presentation was presented on Best Practices Seminar 2011 at NJC.
